Ted Bami is one of the most popular and richest Boxer who was born on March 2, 1978 in Zaire, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Ted Bami Minsende (born 2 March 1978 in Zaire (now Democratic Republic of the Congo)) is an ex-professional boxer. He is known as “Dangerous”, Bami is a former European light welterweight champion, as well as a British light welterweight title contender. Bami was training his son, British boxer Isaac Chamberlain. Bami and Chamberlain separated after Chamberlain’s allegations of theft. However in May Chamberlain was cleared by the Boxing Board of Control cleared Bami of any charges and Chamberlain is still Chamberlain’s manager.
On the 14th of September, 2006 after an injury to Jason Cook, Bami received an invitation to defend the unclaimed European lighter welterweight crown. He was up against Italian Giuseppe Lauri, who had previously lost to Ricky Hatton and Junior Witter. On the 22nd September of 2006, despite having a single point taken away for headbutting, Bami beat Lauri in a unanimous points decision. The score was 117-112 twice, and 118-111.
On 24 October 2008, Bami was defeated in the final of the 3rd Prizefighter tournament by Michael Lomax. Bami, favourite going into the tournament, defeated Andrew Ferrans via knockout and Mark Lloyd on points on his way to the final.
On 14 March 2008, Bami challenged David Barnes for the vacant British light welterweight title. Bami was defeated via a unanimous points decision, in a fight which Barnes controlled with his jab. In July, 2008, Bami returned to winning ways with a 7th round knockout of Stuart Elwell via a body shot.
In April of 2003 Bami was awarded his vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) light welterweight title by an 8th round knockout Vasile “Laszlo'” Herteg. On July 26, 2003, his first defense of the title Bami was defeated in the 9th round by South African Samuel Malinga, who had earlier lost to Colin Lynes.

Bami was a professional boxer who made his debut in September 1998 with a first-round stoppage by Des Sowden. In his second professional bout, Bami knocked out Gary Reid in the second round of a planned 4 round bout. Reid was later to fight for the commonwealth light-welterweight title. The first time Bami suffered a setback was when he was knocked down to the ground by Jacek Bielski, in the fourth bout.
On the 17th of August, 2002 Bami beat invincible Bradley Pryce in the 6th round. Pryce has been able to fight for the British Welterweight title, and also take home the Commonwealth title in the light middleweight division.
On 30 March 2007, Bami scored another unanimous points decision over Lauri in a rematch for the title. Bami vacated the title following an injury.
