On the 5th of November 2017 on November 5, 2017, the Toronto Blue Jays acquired Guerrieri on waivers. Guerrieri played in the Buffalo Bisons of the International League in the 2018 season. In 2018, the Blue Jays promoted him to the major leagues on the 1st of September 2018. On November 2, 2018 Guerrieri cleared waivers and he signed a free-agent contract.
Guerrieri has recovered from his injury with the hope that he would be assigned to a minor league club in mid-May 2015. In May Guerrieri made his debut for the season as a member of the Charlotte Stone Crabs of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League. The Rays made him a member of their Montgomery Biscuits of the Class AA Southern League during the season and then added the player to their 40-man roster following the season. He played in the 2016 season in Montgomery. Guerrieri made the move to Durham Bulls in 2017. Durham Bulls of the Class AAA International League for the 2017 season. After two games the player was injured on his elbow and did not play in a second game.

Guerrieri was a student at Spring Valley High School in Columbia, South Carolina. He made a commitment to Columbia University of South Carolina on the basis of a baseball scholarship to college. He was selected by the Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball (MLB) picked him in the initial round, as the 24th overall pick in 2011, the MLB draft. They signed him with the Rays and was awarded the $1.6 million bonus on signing. Guerrieri pitched in the Hudson Valley Renegades of the Class A-Short Season New York Penn League, pitching to a 1-2 loss-win record as well as an 1.04 earned run rate (ERA) with five walks and 45 strikeouts over 52 innings of pitching. In the 2012 season started, MLB.com classified Guerrieri as the 99th most promising prospect in baseball.
Guerrieri kicked off 2013 with a win-loss record of 6-2 and an 2.01 ERA in 14 games that began by his team, the Bowling Green Hot Rods of the Class A Midwest League. Guerrieri was selected as the representative of in the Rays during the 2013 All-Star Futures Game. He complained of an injury to his right arm during June, and was granted two weeks of rest. C. J. Riefenhauser was named replacement for Guerrieri in the Futures Game. He lasted just two innings due to pain in his throwing arm. He had Tommy John surgery to repair the ulnar collateral ligament that was torn at the elbow the 24th of July 2013. He was given a suspension of 50 games following the 2013 season during his rehabilitation after surgery, and for using an abuse substance.
On January 9, 2019, the Texas Rangers signed Guerrieri to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. He was assigned to the Triple-A Nashville Sounds to open the 2019 season. On July 16, the Rangers selected Guerrieri’s contract. Guerrieri was designated for assignment on November 20, 2019. He accepted an outright assignment to Nashville on November 27.
