Tas Pappas is one of the most popular and richest Skateboarder who was born on February 9, 1975 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Pappas is a native of Melbourne, Victoria and grew in the suburb of St Albans, located in the north-western part that is St Albans. He and his brother Ben were the sole kids of a Greek-Australian dad who was employed by an accounting firm, as well as an Australian mother who worked as a catering professional. The parents split up after they married in the early years of their marriage.

Pappas took home his 1995 World Championships skateboard contest over Tony Hawk that led to his number one ranking in the world. He won after sustaining a fractured rib during the contest. Pappas said his reaction felt “humbled” soon afterward, when he injured his back. The Pappas brothers discovered that they were not able to get a foothold in the American skateboard industry because of their behavior, which was thought to be aggressive and wild. Australian filmmaker Eddie Martin, who knew the Pappas brothers as teens who skated at the Prahran skating park said that in the year 2014 “They’re [Pappas brothers] very Australian characters. They were so raw and full of passion. They just went over there and stuck it to them. It just didn’t go down very well.”

In 2005, Pappas married Colleen, an American he met through skateboarding. They lived in San Diego with their two children. However, due to financial difficulties, the relationship was strained and Pappas began using crystal methamphetamine, to numb the pain from injuries during contests that he desperately participated in to earn money. Additionally, Pappas was prescribed an antidepressant after he consulted a doctor for help with a low emotional state caused by his life situation—Pappas proceeded to use alcohol and cocaine with the medication.

The year 1996 was the time that Pappas took home both the titles and crowns at the Hard Rock Cafe Skateboarding World Championships (the finals event in addition to points for the whole year) He beat Tony Hawk. Then, Pappas suffered a number of serious injuries. He could not compete or keep up the pace at which he was skating prior to the accident. In 1999, following his physical rehabilitation of his injuries Pappas scored high in a series of competitions which included his participation in the X Games and the Milwaukee Triple Crown.

Tasou Micah Tasou Micah (born 1975) is better known as Tas Pappas is an Australian sponsored skateboarder. He previously was a professional skateboarder, with a focus on the sport of vert skating and participated in several major international competitions. In the 1990s the Pappas brothers Ben and Jeremy was a highly-regarded skateboarder globally and climbed to the top two positions on the global rankings.

In a commercial from 1994 for the now defunct Mad Circle skateboard deck company, an scan of Pappas’ femur, complete with metal plates and screws is shown with the tagline: “Tas Pappas, Mad Circle’s Answer to the Bionic Man.” Pappas was then portrayed alongside Moses Itkonen, Edward Devera, Mike Cao, Justin Girard and Scott Johnston in the 1996 Mad Circle video Let The Horns Blow.

Following Pappas’s success with the Hard Rock Cafe competition, both he and his brother were credited with helping to revive the popularity of vert skateboarding, which was beginning to fade. In August 2011, Tas and Ben Pappas both received the number 10 ranking in Transworld Skateboarding’s “10 Infamous Australians” article for “rekindl[ing] vert’s flickering candle” during the 1990s.
