Taryne Lee Mowatt (born on September 12 in 1986) is an American Former college All-American right-handed hitting retired professional softball pitcher born in Corona, California. Mowatt is currently the pitcher’s coach at Arizona. She played college softball for Arizona and played in the 2007 and 2006 Women’s College World Championship. From 2008 until 2013, Mowatt pitched professionally as a player in National Pro Fastpitch, selected in the 2008 NPF draft by the Washington Glory. Mowatt has a strong record in various categories of pitching to the Wildcats and holds the Women’s College World Series records for wins and strikeouts.
Mowatt pitched her debut no-hitter in March of 2006 against. her team, the UNLV Rebels. The next day, Mowatt made better with a five-inning 13 strikeouts, 9-0 flawless match against the Cal State Northridge Matadors. This was the 8th perfect match by the Wildcats and she was the third pitcher who has achieved this feat. Mowatt hit a 3-run homer in her single game highest RBIs against Anjelica Selden, a member of UCLA’s UCLA Bruins on April 9. On April 22 Mowatt along with California Golden Bears’ Kristina Thorson put together 38 strikeouts. This was the third most (now the 7th best) ever in the NCAA and the Wildcats defeated the Bruins 4-2 in 13 innings. At the Super Regionals, vs. LSU Tigers, LSU Tigers, Mowatt was flawless four-four at bat, which was another career high in hits. The run-rule win was enough to send players from the Wildcats towards the WCWS on May 27.
For her 60-innings, 76 strikeouts, 4 shutouts performance at the 2007 Women’s College World Series, she was named to the All-Tournament Team and earned the “Most Outstanding Player” Award in her victorious bid for the national title. She also set new WCWS records for wins (6) and strikeouts, the latter was previously held by former teammate and then assistant coach Alicia Hollowell. Later that year Mowatt also won two ESPY Awards; Best Female Athlete and Best Female College Athlete.
The Washington Glory made it to the Cowles Cup Championship but lost to the Chicago Bandits on August 24, 2008. Mowatt did not pitch.
Mowatt scored the third time she hit a homerun in Game One and in the final game in the Women’s College World Series National Championship series against the Northwestern Wildcats, she had two hits. She was batting close to .400 in the series, and .290 throughout the season. Mowatt was picked for make the WCWS All-Tournament Team after Arizona was awarded its seventh championship.

As an undergraduate student of the University of Arizona in 2005 Mowatt started her career by going 7-0 with her only appearances with the Arizona Wildcats softball team. She made her debut on February 4 against. The Kansas Jayhawks, nabbing a victory after pitching five hours and striking out four batters. In the end, however, the Michigan Wolverines handed her the only loss of the season on March 21, 2005.
As a sophomore, Mowatt had career bests in ERA, WHIP and strikeout ratio (10.7). She threw 3 no-hitters and a perfect game. On February 26, 2006, Mowatt struck out 18 of the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles for a career best strikeouts in regulation. The total tied her for the fourth best 7-inning single game total in the NCAA.
