Tanvir Mahmood Ahmed (Urdu: Tnwyr MHmwd Hmd; birth year: 1952) is an ex-air officer from the Pakistan Air Force who was the Chief of the Air Staff from 2006 to 2009. His successor was Rao Qamar Suleman on 18 March 2009.
He assumed the position of the 11th Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) on 20 March 2006, after the previous chief had completed his three-year tenure. His accomplishments include the successful induction and upgrade of the ex-Libyan Mirage III’s to become the 27th squadron in the PAF.
