Tandi Jane Indergaard (nee Gerrard) (born 25 February 1978 in Johannesburg, South Africa) is a South-African-born English diver, who is a specialist in synchronized and individual springboard events. From 2001 onwards, Indergaard has a double citizenship of South Africa and Great Britain to be able to compete internationally in diving. She has three times been a British diving champion, and an Olympic bronze medalist in the synchronised springboard during the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia.

In the 2008 Summer Olympics at Beijing, Indergaard and her partner Sage however, put in poor event in women’s three-meter springboard synchronised event, coming in just in eighth position with a result of 278.25.

Indergaard was a representative of her country Great Britain at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens in Greece, where she and teammate Jane Smith finished outside the medals with fourth place in the synchronised springboard. They scored an average of 302.25. Following Smith’s retirement in 2005, she joined forces with her partner Hayley Sage and won an Olympic bronze at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia. The same year, she was married to her best acquaintance and Norway-born physical therapist Ove Indergaard. They were married in Leeds.

Indergaard born in Johannesburg, South Africa, began her profession as a gymnast at a young age of seven until she began diving in 1992. Her first success came with the gold medal in diving as a sport of demonstration during the 1995 All-Africa Games in Harare, Zimbabwe and also took part in South Africa at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where she came into contact with Briton Adrian Hinchliffe, who later became the personal trainer for her. The year 2000 saw Indergaard completed her studies at the University of the Witwatersrand, with an academic degree in physical education. She was also chosen by South Africa to compete at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney however she was not selected by the South African Olympic Committee had made a decision not to invite her to Sydney.

In April of 2001, Indergaard moved from her home in South Africa to England in the hope of pursuing a further profession in the diving industry. In the following years, she was a part of the British national team of divers (Team GB) and was a member of the City of Leeds Diving Club under her personal coach as well as head coach Hinchliffe.
