Taisia Povaliy (also Taisia Povalij, Taisiya Povaliy) (Ukrainian: Tayisiia Mikolayivna Povalii ) (born 10 December 1964) is a Ukrainian actor and singer who is popular particularly in Ukraine as well as Russia. After the 2014 Ukrainian revolution, Povaliy was forced to move to Russia. In 2015, the Ukrainian lawmakers passed a resolution to disqualify her from the position of Ukrainian National Singer because she sings in Russia.
Povaliy was a candidate of the Party of Regions at the October 2012 Ukrainian elections for parliament; she was placed second on the list of party candidates. She was elected to the Ukrainian parliament. She resigned from in the Party of Regions parliamentarian faction on June 3, 2014. Povaliy was not a part of the 2014 Ukrainian Parliamentary elections in Ukraine.
In 1995 she released her debut album. The following year, she was given the honorary name as Merited Artist of Ukraine. She was awarded the title in 1997. was given with the honorary title People’s Artist of Ukraine. She was awarded the title in 1998. received an honorary Order of Saint Nicholas Thaumaturgus (International).
