Suzanne Mizzi (1 December 1967 22 May 2012) was a model and singer, as well as an interior designer and artist. She was frequently seen as an Page 3 girl in the British newspaper The Sun during the 1980s and 1990s. She went to pursue a career in the catwalk modeling industry as well as participating in music and film. Later in her life she began a new career in the field of interior design and abstraction.

In the late 2000s, she was an interior designer and artist and was referred to as Mizzy. She displayed her work in the London’s Rainbird Fine Art Gallery and operated an interior design and building design consulting business that she began after friends saw work she’d done to her home and wanted her to design their rooms. She started painting after having problems finding artworks for clients. Abstract paintings were sold for as much as PS10,000 each. A show of her work entitled “Timeless” was held at the Artbank Gallery, also in London.

Mizzi was interested in music, and was a founder member in the band Wildflowers However, her attempts to pursue a career in music failed, which she blamed to her record company: “We had a record deal, but the label wanted me to sing a pop track. I wanted to be an ‘artist’, not a pop star.” According to an BBC report Mizzi was among many famous people who had insurance on their assets that made them famous. The year was 1989 in which she covered her body with Lloyd’s of London for $16 million.

After she left school at the age of 15, Mizzi opened a clothes shop in Bethnal Green, London, in which she was spotted by photographer who was working. Mizzi began her Page 3 debut in 1984 at the age of 17 and instantly became a household name however, she had to wait for her parents some time to be comfortable with her profession. Within the first two years of her modeling professional career Mizzi produced 26 calendars, and she was highly sought- after for appearances on the red carpet. The success of her career was made possible through Page 3 photographer Beverley Goodway Her photographs helped make her a household name. She was able to charge more than $1000 for a one- on-one appearance.

The year 1988 was when she resigned from glamour modelling and started catwalk modeling. She was signed by Storm Model Agency. Storm Model Agency and began shooting fashion shows and eventually result in her working with Vivienne Westwood. When she was 21 she signed a contract worth PS400,000 to run her own line of lingerie for the chain of high-end stores Dorothy Perkins. The company that made lingerie once insured her body and face at PS11 million.

She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2010; she died at St Joseph’s Hospice, Hackney, East London, on 22 May 2011, aged 43.
