It was in 1988 that Glazebrook received an DPhil in The University of Oxford in French law and history. Her doctoral dissertation was entitled”Justice in Transition: Crime criminal justice and criminals in the revolutionary Rouen 1790-1800.

The year 1992 was the time that Glazebrook got married to former New Zealand rugby union representative Greg Kane, and the couple had two children.

On 6 August 2012, Glazebrook was appointed to the Supreme Court.

In the 2014 Queen’s Birthday Honours, Glazebrook was appointed a Dame Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit, for services to the judiciary.

Glazebrook joined the legal company Simpson Grierson in 1986, and was made an associate in 1988. She was on several boards of commerce and government advisory committees. She also was the president of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association, in 1998.

Lady Susan Gwynfa Mary Glazebrook DNZM (born on February 8, 1956) is a judge in the Supreme Court of New Zealand.

Glazebrook was an assistant lecturer in the field of history for The University of Auckland in 1976 in 1978, 1979 and 1976. Bwetween 1982 and 1981, she lived on the French border in Rouen, France, where she was employed by a state-funded organization responsible for the resettlement for refugees living in France. In 1984 she worked as a research assistant under Sir Keith Sinclair and a tutor in the field of history in the University of Auckland. She taught part-time in commercial law at the University of Auckland between 1991 and 1994.

Glazebrook was appointed a judge of the High Court of New Zealand on 14 December 2000, having served until that time as temporary judge of that court. She was appointed to the Court of Appeal on 24 May 2002.
