Singh is currently the Chairman of the Writers Club. In 2016, Singh co-founded the Jhalak Prize for Book of the Year by a Writer of Colour. The prize supports British writers by awarding a thousand pounds prize. It was created through Singh, Nikesh Shukla and Media Diversified, with support from The Authors’ Circle and the funds provided by an anonymous donor. The judges of the award include Nikesh Shukla Anita Sethi, Kerry Young as well as Roy McFarlane. The previous winner have included Guy Gunaratne (In Our Mad and Fast City, 2019), Reni Eddo-Lodge (Why I’m Not Talking to White People about Race in 2018) in addition to Jacob Ross (The Bone Readers in 2017).
