Suleiman Asonya Adokwe (born 15 February 1954) was elected as Senator to his Nasarawa South constituency of Nasarawa State, Nigeria, taking the oath on May 29th, 2007. He is a part of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). He is ethnically part of the Alago nation, which is an Idomoid people group.

After the results of the elections Adokwe was able to go to the election petition tribunal at Lafia Nasarawa State to challenge the election results from Arc Egyebola. On the 12th of October, 2015, the tribunal rejected Adokwe’s appeal for the lack of merit.

Adokwe ran for reelection in the position of senator for Nasarawa South on the PDP platform during the April elections of 2011. He was electedwith the vote of 108,844 against 103,320 to Tanko Wambai of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC). Wambai has said he will challenge the outcome.
