Born in Liverpool in the city of Liverpool, he is the son of the former Ghanaian light and lightweight heavyweight, and West African welterweight champion Sugar Gibiliru Sr. who moved to Britain in the year 1961.
He participated in a second contest to win an Commonwealth victory in December 1991, but lost just a little on scores to Paul Harvey. He defeated Frankie Foster in March 1992 and was then stopped in six rounds a month following with Michael Ayers. In December, 1992, He was disqualified in the initial round, by Ross Hale, and was then removed from the boxing ring for 17 consecutive months. He returned to the ring with victories in the fights against Norman Dhalie and Kelton McKenzie. He was defeated by a score of points in the month of March in 1995 against Peter Judson in what proved to be his last fight.
He took his first title as a lightweight, defeating Tony Foster on points in January 1990 to claim his vacant Central Area title. He lowered his weight and then to super featherweight, and defeated Peter Gabbitus in his next fight for his Central Area title at that weight in March. Then, two months later, he was defeated in the face of Mark Reefer in a challenge to winning the Commonwealth Super featherweight championship.

Dramani “Sugar” Gibiliru (born 13 July 1966) is a British former boxer who was the British super featherweight champion in the year 1991.
His professional debut was in November 1984, taking a loss on points by Steve Benny. His first professional career was not successful with only winning 7 of his 39 first fights which included a shaky attempt to regain the Pat Barrett BBBofC Central Area light welterweight title.
Gibiliru was unbeaten in his next four fights, setting up a challenge for Robert Dickie’s British title in April 1991; Gibiliru stopped Dickie in the ninth round to become British champion. He lost the title in his first defence, losing on points to John Doherty in September.
