Stuart David is one of the most popular and richest Musician who was born on December 26, 1969 in Dumbarton, Scotland, United Kingdom. David was raised in the tiny town of Alexandria in the West Coast in Scotland (1975-1995). As the son of a toolmaker and a toolmaker, he grew up in a working class upbringing. He was a student at The Vale of Leven Academy (1981-1987). The first song he wrote was when he was fourteen and formed his first band one year later. In 1989, he enrolled in an all-year course in Electronic Music Recording at Clydebank Technical College and began writing his first two novels unpublished after the course had ended (Francis The Point as well as The Bleach Field). In 1994, he enrolled in an unemployed musician’s course in Glasgow named Beatbox which is where he came across Stuart Murdoch. They were in two bands in the beginning (Lisa Helps The Blind and Rhode Island) before forming Belle & Sebastian to make an album with Electric Honey, the Stow College label Electric Honey. The song was quickly turned into an album Tigermilk.

Looper was initially conceived as a side project to Belle and Sebastian, a space for David to explore his spoken-word style that he developed in the B&S tracks “A Century of Elvis” and “A Spaceboy Dream”. One of the first Looper release was released on Subpop in 1998 it was a 7″ vinyl featuring two songs that were spoken word, “Impossible Things” and “Spaceboy Dream #3”. Up to date, David has recorded four albums with LooperThe up A Tree (Subpop,1999), The Geometrid (Subpop, 2000), The Snare (Mute 2002) and Offgrid:Offline (Mute 2015)in addition to an EP series that all combined the spoken-word sound with more pop-oriented songs and instrumentals. Mute released the complete Back catalogue of Looper’s recordings in a five-CD box set in 2015, titled These Things.
