Then he moved to speedway racing in Brisbane towards the end of the 1970s, with the renowned Brisbane Exhibition Ground as his primary track.

Following a fourth place finish in 1986 in the Australian championship, Reging took home his first Australian Championship in 1987. He placed second with Phil Crump the following year.

Regeling was part of the Australia team in 1991. They finished second to eventual runners-up Sweden in the group stage, with Regeling top scorer for the team with 11 points.

He was then transferred to his current club, the King’s Lynn Stars in 1984 and was also a representative for Australia at the international level.

Steven Grae Regeling (born 2 October 1959) is an Australian former speedway racer on motorcycles who was a member of the British League for Leicester Lions in the early 1980s , and then with Kings Lynn Stars, before taking part for several seasons within the National League for the Exeter Falcons and Middlesbrough Bears. He won the Australian Championship in 1987.

He was hired to the club by Martin Rogers for the Leicester Lions in the year 1980, however, he had a leg fracture at Swindon before the start of the campaign. After his recovery, the player was loaned for the National League team Workington Comets with impressive results, which were enough to get him back in the Lions prior to the end of the season. After being loaned to Boston Barracudas in 1981, in which he averaged 8.51 in 18 games He was regularly riding for the Lions during the two years that followed, up until the club was disbanded in the year 1981.

He later rode for the Exeter Falcons, for whom he was the number one rider for the whole of the 1990 season. At the end of the 1991 season he requested a transfer and moved to Middlesbrough, where his success continued, averaging over 8.7 in the 1992 season with two full maximum scores. His final season in Britain was in 1993.
