Stephen J. “Stavros ” Parrish (born 24 February 1953 in Cambridge, England) is a British former professional motorbike and truck racer who is now a motorsports television commentator and speaker/entertainer.

Alongside journalist and radio host Nick Harris, Parrish co-authored Barry The Life of Motorcycling The Legend Barry Sheene (2008), an autobiography of his former teammate Barry Sheene.

After he retired from motorcycling after 1986 Parrish had a double career that included managing a prosperous Yamaha manufacturer team that won win three British Superbike championship titles; and also launching a successful truck racing career, taking home in 1987 the British Open Truck Racing Championship. Parrish won each of his European as well as the British Truck Racing championship titles in 1990. He then was the holder of title to the British championship for four consecutive years. He also held title to the European championship for three more years, driving for the team BP-MercedesBenz. Parrish returned to the highly coveted European title again in the year 1997 in Jarama. One of the most successful racers in truck racing in history was quit in 2002, aged 47 and was handed the reins the title to Terry Rymer.

Parrish became a professional at age 22 in 1976. He won his first ACU Solo title in the British Motor Cycle Championship. Parrish was a teammate with Barry Sheene on a Suzuki in the world 500cc championship, and finished in fifth place, but he returned to riding in the British-based circuit to win the 1998 500cc ACU “Gold Star” Champion. He also took home his British Shell 500 title in both 1979 and 1980, as well as the British Superbike title in 1981.

From 1985 onwards, Parrish began commenting on BBC radio, and then moving to television with Sky along with Barry Nutley. In 1990, he was a commentator for his coverage of the British 125 championship on behalf of the BBC prior to transferring onto the Moto GP coverage, in collaboration along with Charlie Cox until the BBC was forced to end its contract at the season’s conclusion 2013. The two had a good relationship and commented on several series for the BBC during the late 1990s, such as British Touring Cars, British and WorldSuperbikes and currently MotoGP. A certified pilot Parrish has also been a guest commentator on The Red Bull Air Race series for Channel 4.
