Steve Marlet (born 10 January 1974) is retired French soccer player and coach who played forward. He was named at 23 occasions and scored six goals with the French national team. They won the Confederations Cup in 2001 and 2003, and playing in Euro 2004.
Marlet was the record holder for the highest transfer fee paid by Fulham until July 2008, when the newly-promoted Premier League team paid PS11.5 million to purchase the player in August 2001, after he had left Olympique Lyonnais. His hopes were well-received with approval by France National team manager Roger Lemerre, suggesting “He will progress at Fulham”. However, he managed only the score of 11 in his 54 league matches in the time that manager Jean Tigana was dismissed during the season. He was only in one game during the season 2003-04 for Fulham where he scored. Then, he was loaned by Olympique de Marseille on 27 August, and had the possibility of signing for a permanent contract.
