Steve Dyer (born May 4 1972) was an ex- Democratic representative in the Ohio House of Representatives, representing the 43rd District from 2007 until the year 2010.
Dyer submitted petitions to Dyer filed petitions with Summit County Board of Elections on February 2, 2011 , to be a judge for the Barberton Municipal Court District. The only Republican to file a petition was Barberton Municipal Court Clerk Christine Croce.
In 2010, Dyer ran for a third term. Todd McKenney, a councilman from New Franklin, Ohio, was his Republican opponent. In a largely Republican campaign, the contest proved to be a dispute. McKenney was defeated by Dyer. After the loss, Dyer became an analyst for the think tank of liberals Innovation Ohio.

In the year that the incumbent Mary Taylor ran for Ohio Auditor, Dyer sought to succeed her. Confronted by a newcomer to the political scene who was Republican Christina Croce, Dyer was elected, winning his seat in the Forty Third District. Dyer was sworn in to his new term in January 2nd 2007, 2007.
For 2008 Dyer was up against Republican Judy Jones. In a largely Democratic election, Dyer won a second term. The Ohio House of Representatives was elected by Democrats. In the third term Dyer became the Chairman of House Finance Committee’s Subcommittee on Primary and Secondary Education.
