An alumnus of Beloit College in 1989, Klett was crowned Miss Wisconsin in 1992. Klett added her “Attitude on AIDS” campaign as a component of her platform . She attracted more than 53,000 teenagers in 1992-93, with messages that were intended to distinguish the myths surrounding HIV/AIDS from the facts.
In 1993, she was the Founder and until 2013 was the President for the organization Spotlight on Wisconsin, Inc. An organization that helped raise money and increased publicity for work done by the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin, Beloit Regional Hospice and the Stateline Boys and Girls Clubs. Klett has also been the coordinator of Aids Walk Wisconsin for the recent years, and was appointed the honorary chairperson.
On March 6, 2019, Klett was named President and CEO of Visit Lake Geneva and assumed the position on April 8, 2019.
