In addition to his work as a stop-motion and filmmaker animator Stefano has also been a teacher in Italy and in other countries. From 2000 until 2007, he was a teacher at the NUCT (Roma Film Academy) in Cinecitta, Rome. From 2010 to 2013 , he gave talks on Griffith Academy in Rome. Purves was born out of his long-time experience as a teacher and as a stop-motion animator.
