Sotiris Lagonikas is one of the most popular and richest Drummer who was born on June 17, 1970 in Piraeus, Greece. Sotiris Lagonikas was a child in the 1970s, and was heavily influenced by songs of the great rock bands that were popular at the time, such for Grand Funk Railroad, Queen, Kansas, Foreigner, Styx, Toto, Kiss and many others similar genres. Sotiris spent the majority of his time as a child, trying to recreate the movements of drummers from numerous music videos using an “imaginary drum set”.
It was in 1992 that Sotiris was joined by local musicians and their friends, Chris Kissadjekian (bass guitar), Takis Kalatsis (guitar) and Jane Sabanikou (vocals) in the formation of an intense blues/rock group that was later renamed The Buzz. The Buzz? following the song that is a reference to Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Rock Opera Jesus Christ Superstar.
In the spring of 2009, Lagonikas started working on his first solo album, under the project name SL Theory.
Lagonikas’ SL Theory debut album “I” was released in 2010 and his follow up album titled “Progressively Dark” was released in the winter of 2012.
At 14 years old Lagonikas joined Four Wheel Drive, a local group of six who he toured with and recorded their first and sole album “Athoa” (“Athoa”) in 1990.

Sotiris Lagonikas (born 17 June 1970) is a Greek musician who is most well- known for his role being the co-founding drummer and founder for The Greek traditional rock ensemble What’s The Buzz?, and also for the SL Theory music project, where he wrote the music and composed the lyrics, while playing the vocals and instruments for his album debut, which was released in the year 2010 under the name “SL Theory – I”. The album was released two years later. an album with his own name with the title “Progressively Dark” and by the beginning of 2013 together with his long-time collaborator and founder Chris Kissadjekian under the band named Double Treat, their debut album “Wander Thirst” was released through the Sleaszy Rider label. The second album by SL Theory was released December 2014 under the name “Different Space Different Time” and followed by the live album of 2018 “Progressively Dark – A Concert For Group and String Orchestra” that was released via Melodic Revolution Records in double-CD and DVD formats.
The album featured the first song that Lagonikas composed (1982) with the title “Isos meni kairos” (“Isos menei kairos”).
In the year 2000, What’s The Buzz? released their first self-titled album, however, plans for a second reunion studio album, featuring all four original band members, never came to fruition.
