Sophie Thornhill, MBE (born 9 February 1996) is a visually impaired English racer who participates in tandem track events for para-cycling. She is a two-time world champion, along with her driver Rachel James, and a double Commonwealth gold medallist, along with the pilot Helen Scott, in the tandem sprint and 1km time trial. On April 14, 2014 she broke world records in tandem sprint and 1km time trial. She was piloted by James.

Thornhill was chosen for the English team in 2013 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland Para-cycling was featured in the very first event. at age 18 she was the team’s newest track cycling participant. While James was competing on behalf of in the Welsh squad, Thornhill was back as Scott to serve as her driver, and she competed for the team sprint as well as the 1 km time trial. They won gold during the race, beating Australian Paralympic champion Felicity Johnson and her pilot Holly Takos 2-0 in the semi-finals, and beating the Scottish team Aileen McGlynn as well as Louise Haston 2-0 in the final. They also set the Commonwealth record in qualifying with a time of 11.277 seconds.
