Sonia Leong is one of the most popular and richest Comics Artist who was born on May 7, 1982 in Malaysia. Sonia Leong (born 7 May 1982) is a British comic artist who is a freelancer, illustrator , and part of Sweatdrop Studios.
She created the short Manga comic titled “Aygo Manga Adventure One as part of the Toyota GB PLC’s promotion campaign to promote the 2014 model of the Toyota Aygo car. Recently, she created the images to promote Toyota’s Toyota 86 in the style of the classic heinous manga Initial D, as the protagonist is driving the Toyota AE86. Toyota produced a car in the same livery for the ‘touring UK automobile shows throughout 2016’.
Her first exposure was after she illustrated the adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet for SelfMadeHero which was then featured within the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) “2008 Quick Picks for reluctant young Adult Readers’ and ‘Top Books that are Suitable for Young Adults 2008’.

Leong is a native of Malaysia and was a resident of Thailand from 1989 until 2000. She later studied at the University of Warwick, Economics and Politics BSc (Hons) from 2000 until 2003, and now lives within Cambridge, UK. Illustrators freelance who regularly attending comic and anime conventions both in the UK and around the world.
Her first competition wins include 2nd Place Winner in the very first Tokyopop Rising Stars of Manga United Kingdom and Ireland Competition; and Winner of the NEO magazine’s 2005 Manga Competition and being Joint Jury of the Character Design section at the International Manga and Anime Festival (IMAF).
Her work appeared in Popcorn, a British movie directed by Darren Paul Fisher, starring Jack Ryder (EastEnders) and Jodie Albert (Hollyoaks). Her illustrations were also used on the set of Channel 4’s award-winning British sitcom The IT Crowd in series 3, as well the dark comedy Flowers (TV series). She was also filmed for CNN International’s 2015 coverage of Formula One historic battles at the Suzuka Circuit, illustrating the rivalry between Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost.
