Slavcho Penchev Binev (Bulgarian: Slavcho Penchev Binev ) (born 10 December 1965 in Sofia) also known as Slavi Binev (Bulgarian: Slavi Binev ) is a Bulgarian politician, and former champion of taekwondo.

He commenced the call for European actions to tackle the serious issues challenges in issues in Bulgarian energy sector following the country’s admission into the EU. He has a strong stance against the Commission’s proposal to stop production from the “Kozloduy” power plant in Bulgaria or to rely too heavily on imports of energy; instead, he favors a more different energy mix.

Binev’s PROUD was dissolved in August 2013, merging into the NFSB. He joined the Patriotic Front in 2014 and he took part in the 2014 Bulgarian Parliamentary elections, earning a seat from the Haskovo region.

In March 2013, Binev attended the UK Independence Party’s spring conference in the Devonshire city of Exeter, United Kingdom. Addressing delegates, Binev joked that UKIP Deputy leader Paul Nuttall did not have to wear a bullet proof vest on his visit to Sofia and thanked him for his visit on behalf of the EFD. Mr Binev also spoke of the dangers of socialism and dictatorship, whilst explaining the extent of corruption that exists in Bulgaria and emphasising the importance of democracy.

Slavcho Binev became as a MEP of the European Parliament for the nationalist Attack party on 20 May 2007, shortly following Bulgaria was admitted to in the European Union. Along with two other MEPs, Binev was part of the Identity, Tradition, Sovereignty (ITS) group. The group broke up in November of 2007 leaving Attack with no enrolled members. He was the candidate of Attack for mayor in Sofia at the time of 2007. In the 2009 European elections, Attack lost one MEP However, Binev kept his position as the only one member chosen by the party. Binev and Attack remain as non-inscrits.
