Silvi Vrait is one of the most popular and richest Singer who was born on April 28, 1951 in Kehra, Harju County, Estonia. Vrait was born in Kehra around 1951. Vrait was a graduate of Kehra Music School in the year

1951. Kehra Music School at the age of the year 1968 with a piano. In 1974, she graduated from Tartu University with a degree in English Philology. In 1994 she was a teacher of English at a secondary school in Tallinn. Vrait was a vocal coach in Tallinn’s Georg Ots Music School in Tallinn.

In 1994 Vrait was the official representative of Estonia in Estonia’s participation in the Eurovision Song Contest, held in Dublin the year before. The song Nagu merelaine came in at 24th of the 25 positions which beat only Lithuania.

She was in operas and musicals like Porgy and Bess (Bess, 1985), Zorba (Leader, 2000), Cabaret (Fraulein Schneider 2012.), Gypsy (Rose, 2001), The King and I (Lady Thiang 1998), Chicago (Mama Morton 2004,) along with The Sound of Music (Mother Abbess, 2003, remade in the year 2010).

Silvi Vrait (28 April 1951 – 28 June 2013) was an Estonian musician and music instructor.

Silvi Vrait first appeared on stage in 1972 , when she appeared on a television show. Later, from 1977 to 1983 she was involved in the theatre Vanemuine located in Tartu. Her style is a mix of country to jazz, and from folk to rock. In the late 1980s she was a key participant in the Estonian arms-free struggle for the restoration of independence, also known as known as the Singing Revolution, for at least two recordings “Vaikene rahvas, vaikene maa” (“Small Nation, Tiny Country”) and “Ei ole uksi ukski maa” (“No Land is Alley”).

In 2013 Vrait was hospitalized with a brain tumour and died on 28 June 2013, aged 62. She was survived by her son, Silver Vrait.
