Silvan Shalom is one of the most popular and richest Diplomat who was born on August 4, 1958 in Gabes, Israel. Shalom was born in Gabes, Tunisia on August 4, 1958, to an extended family with roots back to the Sephardic Beit Shalom dynasty. The family relocated from Tunisia to Israel in 1959 and settled within the town of Beersheba within the Negev. On the 3rd of November of 1964, Shalom was just six years old the father of his son, Shimon Shalom, a bank manager and a participant in Betar, a group of people from the Betar Movement, was shot dead in the course of the bungled bank robbery. The murder is infamously referred to as the first time a murder was committed in a bank robbery throughout the history of newly formed State of Israel. At age 18, Shalom was enlisted into the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and was promoted to sergeant rank.
When he was an aspiring MK his first bill was in the academic area. In 1992, there was room for just 100,000 students at universities and there was no room for more. Shalom took action to allow students of all ages to be admitted when they quit their institutions of study after their initial year. The bill raised awareness of the issue, and in the end, Israeli colleges were established in order to improve students’ access to academics. In 2010 it was the first time that ever, there were more students enrolled in colleges than in universities. Shalom in his first term was the only male MK to be an active member of the Knesset’s Committee on the condition of women. He also served as Chairman of the Subcommittee concerning the capital market as well as chair of the committee for energy, and an active member of the committee on economic affairs.
From 1995 to 2017 Shalom was married to Israeli talk show host Judy Shalom Nir-Mozes. The couple have five children, including two sons from Mozes previous marriage.
Following the 1996 election, Shalom, who won the 18th spot in the combined list of Likud and two other conservative parties, became Deputy Defense Minister, Yitzhak Mordechai. One of his biggest achievements was enabling Hareidi Jews to serve in the army, a step that they had been avoiding for decades. The Hareidi battalion, “Netzah Yehuda”, was established on February 1999.
The year 1985 was the time Shalom became an adviser for Finance Minister Yitzhak Moda’i. Moda’i was later named Justice Minister. At 31 years old Shalom was appointed director general for the Energy Ministry and two years later, in the year 1990 Shalom was appointed director-general for the Israel Electric Corporation.

Zion Silvan Shalom (Hebrew: TSyvn sylbn SHlvm, born on August 4, 1958) is an Israeli politician who was an official member in the Knesset for Likud between 1992 and 2015.
