Shwe Maung is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on June 30, 1965 in Buthidaung, Myanmar. Shwe Maung (Burmese: remeaang , also called Shwe Mg Shwe Maung, also known as Abdul Razak; born 30 June 1965) is a Rohingya rights activist from Myanmar as well as a politician. He was a parliamentarian for the House of Representatives for Buthidaung constituency between 2011 and 2016.
Shwe Maung was born Buthidaung, Rakhine State to Rohingya Muslim parent, U Abdul Hadi and Daw Aye Sein. While his parents are Myanmar citizens, the Union Election Commission of Myanmar declared that they are not citizens, thereby excluding U Shwe Maung from 2015 General Election.
In his time in parliament and in the parliament, he was an active member of the Reform and Modernization Assessment Committee. He was disqualified to contest a re-election because of the alleged issue of citizenship. Myanmar’s parliament was barred from participating in the elections in 2015 Myanmar general elections.

The 2010 Myanmar general elections, the candidate was a candidate for his Buthidaung Township constituency and won the House of Representatives seat, the lower house of Myanmar. He is one of the Rohingya members of Myanmar parliament.

On 8 September 2017, police captain of Buthidaung Police Station opened a case against Shwe Maung under the Counter-Terrorism Law for allegedly supporting the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) and defending them via his Facebook page.In fact, U Shwe Maung requested State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and Myanmar Military Chief Senior General Min Aung Hlaing via his Facebook Page to protect innocent Rohingya people from his constituency from being killed by Myanmar Security Forces.
