Shuji Kondo is one of the most popular and richest Amateur Wrestler who was born on January 21, 1978 in Fuji, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. Shuji Kondo (Jin Teng Xiu Si, Kondo Shuji born on 21 January 1978) is a Japanese professional wrestler. Before becoming a professional wrestler, he was a rugby player. Following his first professional wrestling experience at Toryumon, Kondo eventually joined All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) which was where he was one of the top promotions’ junior heavyweights. He took home the World Junior Heavyweight Championship three times, and winning the All Asia Tag Team Championship one time. After leaving AJPW in 2013 Kondo was a part of Wrestle-1, and it was where he won half of the first Wrestle-1 Tag Team Champions. Kondo is also the director of bookers, vice-president, and training for the Wrestle-1.

Kondo is one of the principal protagonists in dragondoor’s successor El Dorado. In contrast to dragondoor, Kondo was designed as the face of the ace for the competition. Kondo as well as YASSHI broke up at first for the very first time in a long time and YASSHI occasionally as the leader of his own group. Kondo created a group called Sukiyaki which was named after his famed love for meat-based dishes. When his partner and fellow Dragon Gate exile Naoki Tanisaki abruptly quit El Dorado and returned to Dragon Gate, Kondo disbanded Sukiyaki. After winning against Magnitude Kishiwada on the 15th of August in 2008 to win the Greatest Golden League, Kondo announced his resignation to El Dorado.

On October 9, 2015, Kondo broke off his partnership with Hayashi and formed a new stable with Masayuki Kono and rookies Hiroki Murase and Shotaro Ashino. On October 31, the stable was named TriggeR. On November 27, Kondo and Kono won the Wrestle-1 Tag Team Championship. They lost the title to Kazma Sakamoto and Yuji Hino on March 6, 2016. On December 9 Kondo with Jun Kasai and Nosawa Rongai defeated Andy Wu, Daiki Inaba and Seiki Yoshioka to win the UWA World Trios Championship.

On March 27, 2017, it was announced that Kondo would become Wrestle-1’s new executive vice president on April 1, serving under new president Kaz Hayashi.

He then joined AJPW in which he and his the longtime associate “brother” YASSHI would ally themselves with the TARU’s Voodoo Murders stable, and held the All-Asia Tag Team titles for a short period of duration. The Voodoo Murderers had been involved in a fierce battle against RO&D, but they were able to defeat their old foes after the duo of D’Lo Brown as well as Buchanan decided to take on RO&D. They then joined forces with Voodoo Murderers. Kondo was also crowned one of the World Junior Heavyweight Champion having been crowned by junior champion Taka Michinoku. On February 17, 2007 Kondo ended his Jr. Heavyweight Title to Katsuhiko Nakajima. This ended his four-month, one-year title reign. Kondo would continue to be a top player in the AJPW’s Junior division over the next few years. This included a tag-teaming with Kaz Hayashi, and sometimes working with heavyweights in tag-team matches as a Suwama-partner. His ties to both was the most significant aspect of his time in the sport, through his work with both men across different factions in big match situations. When AJPW along with Pro Wrestling NOAH began working with each other more often in 2011 and 2013, Shuji began working NOAH as an outsider on a part-time basis and being an AJPW rep, would beat NOAH’s Yoshinobu Kanemaru in an opportunity to win the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship on September 29th 2012. After the year had ended, Kondo would return twice to NOAH to defend his title in the fight against Atsushi Aoki, and Kotaro Suzuki as well as Kotaro Suzuki. His third match would take place the 2nd of January, 2013 in a dual-title fight against the reigning AJPW World Junior Heavyweight Champion Hiroshi Yamato. In the event of defeating Yamato, Kondo became the first person to have both AJPW in addition to the GHC Junior Championships simultaneously; however, the dual title run would only last a few days because Kondo lost his GHC Junior Title to old dragondoor rival Taiji Ishimori on the 28th of January. The identical month the brand new version from the Burning faction The Burning faction – Jun Akiyama, Go Shiozaki, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, Kotaro Suzuki and Atsushi Aoki would join AJPW after having left their former home at Pro Wrestling NOAH the month preceding. The members immediately fought to win AJPW gold, and on February 23rd Kondo would lose to Kanemaru and end the reign of his predecessor. On March 4 of 2013, Kondo became a part of Suwama along with Joe Doering as a member of the stable Last Revolution. In June of 2013, Kondo announced his resignation from All Japan in the aftermath of Nobuo Shiraishi being appointed President and Keiji Mutoh leaving the company. His last match in his capacity as an AJPW roster participant was June 30th , when he along with Kaz Hayashi failed to win The All Asia Tag Team Championship that was being hosted in Burning’s Aoki and Suzuki.
