Shotaro Ashino is one of the most popular and richest Professional Wrestler who was born on January 4, 1990 in Nishitokyo, Tokyo, Japan. Shotaro Ashino (Lu Ye Xiang Tai Lang , Ashino Shotaro born on January 4 in 1990) is a Japanese professional wrestler, who is now an independent contractor. His training was provided by the legendary most well recognized for his stint in Wrestle-1. He was a two-time Wrestle-1 Champion.

On August 8 Ashino and Kodama took home the vacant Wrestle-1 Tag Team Championships following beating Manabu Soya as well as Shuji Kondo. The event was Pro Wrestling Love in Yokohama 2019 Ashino and Kodama were successful in defending their title with a win over Strong Hearts’ El Lindaman and Shigehiro Irie. Ashino and Kodama had two more title defenses, but lost the Wrestle-1 Tag Team Championships Daiki Inaba as well as Koji Doi.

Ashino was a wrestler in the amateur ranks during his early years, participating in the sport in high school and university. Ashino completed his studies at Nippon Sport Science University and after receiving a recommendation from Hiroshi Hase, he enrolled in the Wrestle-1 dojo in August of 2014 in which he was trained under Keiji Mutoh as well as Kaz Hayashi.

After training by the Dojo trainers for six months, Ashino made his debut for Wrestle-1 in February 13 in 2015, beating Kumagoro. On August 13, Ashino took part in the Wrestle-1 Grand Prix of 2015 beating Nosawa Rongai during the first round, but lost against Manabu Soya, who was in the quarterfinals. In the latter half of the year, Ashino created Trigger (stylised with the name TriggeR) along with Masayuki Kono, Shuji Kondo and Hiroki Murase after Shuji Kondo had a grudge with long-time friend Kaz Hayashi during a game between Ashino as well as Murase. On November 3 Murase and Ashino were unsuccessfully battling Manabu Soya, and Jun Kasai for the Wrestle-1 Tag Team Championship. On June 8th on the 8th of June in 2016, Ashino got his first chance to compete in the Wrestle-1 Championship. He failed in contesting Kai. On July 8, Ashino returned to the Grand Prix reaching the semi-finals, where he took on Manabu Soya. However the match was swiftly concluded because Ashino sustained a serious injury in his leg. Ashino required three months to heal, then returned to the ring in November. In January of 2017, after Trigger close friend Masayuki Kono was successful in defending the Wrestle-1 Championship Shuji Kondo Ashino demanded take on Kono for the title. On the 20th of March, Ashino defeated Kono to claim the championship at the beginning of his professional career. After winning the championship in the match against Shuji Kondo in April 19th, Ashino quit Trigger.

On April 18, Kumagoro joined Enfants Terrible after turning on Koji Doi after losing the Wrestle-1 Tag Team Championships. Following the match, Ashino and Kuamagoro challenged Akira and Manabu Soya to a title match. On May 6, Ashino and Kumagoro won the Wrestle-1 Tag Team Championships, with Kumagoro changing his name to Kuma Arashi after the match. During the post-match celebration, Drunk Andy revealed himself to be Kenichiro Arai and attacked Tachibana; Ashino would later kick out Tachibana from Enfants Terribles. On June 22, Ashino and Arashi lost the Wrestle-1 Tag Team Titles to Kuroshio and Masato Tanaka. After defeating Kaz Hayashi on July 1 in the opening round of the 2018 Wrestle-1 Grand Prix, Ashino was matched against Manabu Soya, a repeat of 2016’s Grand Prix semi-final. On July 18, Ashino defeated Soya and went on to win the Wrestle-1 Grand Prix by defeating Koji Doi in the tournament finals. At Pro Wrestling Love in Yokohama 2018, Ashino reclaimed the Wrestle-1 Championship from Manabu Soya. After two successful title defences, Ashino lost the Wrestle-1 Championship to T-Hawk on January 5, 2019. On July 2, Ashino would once again make it to the Wrestle-1 Grand Prix final but lost to Daiki Inaba.
