Shoo is born Shu Kunimitsu on 23 October 1981 at Yokohama, Japan. The mother of Shoo is Japanese while her father Korean. She was originally part of a mixed-gender group along with Son Ho-young Danny Ahn from g.o.d and Kim Hwan Sung of NRG however she chose to sign up with S.M. Entertainment after securing an audition for the company.

Shoo married basketball player Im Hyo-sung, on April 11, 2010 at the Seoul Renaissance Hotel. Shoo was expecting during the ceremony. In June of 2010 they welcomed their first child Im Yoo. In April of 2013, Shoo gave birth to twin girls, Im Ra-yool and Im Ra-hee.

In December 2014, Shoo along with her bandmate Bada made a special comeback on Infinity Challenge, in the episode “Saturday for Singers”, and performed two songs (“I’m Your Girl” and “I Love You”) with Girls’ Generation member Seohyun, who was filling in for Eugene due to her pregnancy, but they stated that she wished they could have performed together. In January 2015, she appeared on the show Roommate with her twin daughters, Im Rayool, Im Rahee and her husband, Hyosung.

In March 2014, Shoo signed with RUN Entertainment and returned to her career as an actress.

Shoo was signed by SM Entertainment until 2006. During the time she was signed Shoo was a part of SMTown Albums in the years 2003 and 2004. The year 2006 saw Shoo quit SM Entertainment and joined JIIN Entertainment. The year 2005 was the time she launched the stage career by performing in The Korean production to Bat Boy: The Musical which sold more than 110,000 tickets across Korea in addition to Japan. In December 2006, she announced she was going to pursue acting, and put her singing career on hold.

Shu Kunimitsu (Bang Guang Zhu, Kunimitsu Shu) (born on the 23rd of October, 1981) is professionally known by the name Shoo Shu, is an South Korean- Japanese actor and singer who first appeared as an S.E.S. member South Korean girl group S.E.S. in 1997, and continued to perform until 2002, when the group broke up. She recorded songs as a solo artist following the breakup of the group and took a break from her musical career to pursue a career in acting in the year 2006. The singer returned to the music industry when she released her debut album, Devote One’s Loving in the year 2010. Following that, she went in hiatus for a period of 4 years before returning to acting in the year 2014.

Shoo began her career with S.E.S. in 1997. The group first debuted with their album and song “I’m Your Girl” on 1 November 1997. The group has since gone into becoming the best-selling K-pop girl group of the generation they represent. Since their inception they have released 5 Korean albums, and two Japanese albums. The group officially split in 2002 because of the expiration of their contract to SM Entertainment. The members Bada and Eugene have left SM Entertainment after the expiry of their first contracts and Shoo was at SM Entertainment until 2006.

In January 2010, Shoo returned to the music scene with the release of her first mini-album, Devote One’s Love with the lead track Only You.
