After graduating from secondary school at Sendai the city, he was offered an employment in an industry that made products. He was fascinated by archaeology while he was young, discovering fragments from Jomon pottery near his home.
On the 23rd of October in 2000 Fujimura as well as his crew declared that they had found a new discovery on the Kamitakamori site close to Tsukidate town. The site was estimated to be 570,000 years old.
On the 5th of November in 2000 The paper Mainichi Shimbun published pictures of Fujimura digging holes and digging up the artifacts he and his team found. The photos were taken just a few days before the discovery was made public. Fujimura admitted to the forged documents in an interview to the paper.

Shinichi Fujimura (Teng Cun Xin Yi , Fujimura Shin’ichi, b. April 4, 1950) is a Japanese archaeologist who claimed that he had discovered an abundance of stone artifacts that date back up to Lower Paleolithic and Middle Paleolithic period. The objects were later discovered to be fakes.
In 1972, Fujimura began studying archaeology and search for Paleolithic artifacts in his vacations. In the years that would come, he ascended to the attention of academic and amateur archaeologists in Sendai and was named the leader of an NGO organization Sekki Bunka Kenkyukai in 1975. Fujimura discovered and excavated numerous Paleolithic stone artifacts within the Miyagi prefecture. These included at the Zazaragi Site in the year 1981. Nakamine Site C in 1983, and the Babadan A site in 1984. Based on a cross- dating study of the stratum, these stones were believed to be fifty thousand years old.
