Atcheson was involved in establishing the United Kingdom expansion of Women Who Code. Since its inception 2013 Atcheson has increased the membership of Women Who Code to more than 10,000 members, with more than 1,000 of whom have joined their Belfast branch. She is Their Global Ambassador.
After graduation, Atcheson joined Kainos as an engineer in software before joining SR Laboratories. In 2016, Atcheson became a part of Deloitte in which she worked as a consultant to business architecture and strategy. At some point, she was promoted to leader for inclusion, as well as helped develop and execute the Deloitte Inclusion Strategy. At Deloitte Atcheson was the person who was the lead in the development and implementation of the Consulting practice’s Inclusion strategy. In 2019, she was promoted to the Head for Diversity and Inclusion at Monzo. She has published articles on behalf of Forbes as well as The Guardian. She has also appeared by The Evening Standard, BBC Make It Super Assembly and Positive News.
Atcheson was selected by Computer Weekly as one of the Most Influential Women in UK tech. She was selected by WeAreTheCity as one of the United Kingdom’s Rising Stars. In 2019 she was awarded Queen’s University Belfast Graduate of the Year. and was listed as one of the Financial Times Top 100 BAME Leaders influencing the Tech sector. Whilst at Deloitte, she won the Women in Tech Employer of the Year Award in the Women in Tech Employer Awards 2019.
