Shay Doron is one of the most popular and richest Basketball Player who was born on April 1, 1985 in Ramat HaSharon, Tel Aviv District, Israel. In the hopes of playing basketball in college and hoping to play professional basketball in the WNBA She moved into New York, (where her family lived previously) to play in her senior and junior seasons for the well-known Christ The King Regional High School women’s basketball team. She was the sole Jewish/Israeli student in the school’s 1 800 Catholic students. In her junior year she was the captain of Christ King through reaching the New York State Federation finals and scored 17.1 points for each game. The following year, she guided the team to win its 19th consecutive title in the Brooklyn-Queens, becoming one of the few girls born in New York to play on the McDonald’s All- American Team, and took part in the Nike Tournament of Champions, in which she was awarded an MVP award and was awarded Team of the Tournament distinctions. In her senior and junior seasons she was awarded The Gatorade player of the year in New York. The final season of her career, Doron averaged 17.2 points, 4.2 assists, 5.5 rebounding, as well as 6.0 steals on a per-game basis to help lead to the Royals to the no. 1 ranking in the country.
The year 2005 was the first time she competed at the Maccabiah Games in Israel, which she helped lead teams from across the US to a record of 5-0 and the gold medal. She was named Maccabiah MVP, her second medal in the summer tournament.
Doron played for defending champion Elitzur Ramle in the Israeli league during the 2007–2008 WNBA off-season. Ramle reached the semifinals of the EuroCup Women competition, then went on to win the Israeli league title.

Doron was selected as a member of the All-ACC third team in 2004. All- ACC First Team in 2005 in 2005, and All-ACC second team in 2005, and the ACC All-Academic team in 2006. She was also selected to the U.S. National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 2006.

In 2003, during the summer, Doron played for Israel’s national team. As of 2005, Doron led the U-20 Israeli National Team to the Division B European Championship title in Brno, Czech Republic, the first international tournament award for an Israeli ladies’ team. Her average was a tournament-best 24.7 per game, and was awarded Most Valuable Player honors.
Doron was widely considered coach Brenda Frese’s first big-time recruit at the University of Maryland, and she played a pivotal role in the resurgence of the Maryland program. With her help, the team made four straight NCAA Tournament appearances, including Maryland’s first ever national title in 2006 with a victory over Duke University.
