Jordan made his debut for the promotion on June 22, 2011 and lost in an unanimous decision against Devin Cole. A few months later, Jordan was fighting Lavar Johnson, who defeated by Submission in round two.

Shawn Jordan was born and was raised in El Paso, Texas, at Riverside High School where he excelled in basketball, football and wrestling, as well as the track and field. Jordan was twice a state champion in wrestling. He was also considered an elite 10 fullbacks across the nation for football and was the primary center for the basketball team during his sophomore, freshman, as well as junior years. Jordan carried on his athletic career after obtaining an academic scholarship to Louisiana State University (LSU) under the guidance of coach Nick Saban and then coach Les Miles where he was part of the 2002 BCS National Championship and 2007 BCS National Championship teams.
