Sharon Kwan (traditional Chinese: Guan Shi Min ; simplified Chinese: Guan Shi Min born on October 12, 1995, in Los Angeles, California) is a Taiwanese American Mandopop performer. In June of 2011, Sharon participated in the first season of Taiwan’s China Television (CTV)’s (Zhong Shi ) star search show, Chinese Million Star 1 (Hua Ren Xing Guang Da Dao ) that was the Taiwanese equivalent of American Idol and won the overall title on January 8th the 8th of January, 2012. Sharon released her debut album in August of 2012 which was titled Home Girl, and became the first female student of Taiwanese Golden Melody Award winner singer-songwriter David Tao. In 2015, Sharon participated in The fourth episode of Chinese Talent program The Voice of China. Sharon was able to be placed within the top four of Jay Chou’s team.

The first of her concerts, “Home Celebration” took place on the 2nd of November 2012 at the Riverside Live House in Taipei. Apart from singing music from her debut album she also sang cover versions of classic songs by Teresa Teng, Faye Wong and many others.

In March and April 2012, Sharon returned to Los Angeles to take her exams, and received invitations from Jason Chen and Gerald Ko, who were famous singers on the internet. They performed covers of various famous hits, and the songs attracted more than 2 million views in half a year. Her vocal skills received widespread acclaim.

In 2015, she auditioned in the 4th season of “The Voice of China” with the Song 晴天, originally sung by Jay Chou. She passed the blind audition with a two chair turn and was on Team Jay. Sharon was selected in Team Jay’s final four but was later eliminated by Team Na Ying’s Gary Sun.

On May 14 in 2011, Sharon participated in the auditions for Taiwanese reality singing program Chinese Million Star that was held in Los Angeles, and was invited to Taiwan to compete in the contest. Sharon then relocated into Taiwan in June of 2011 with her sister and mother and was able to pass through many rounds of the contest. Her age was the smallest in the top 6 however she was able to achieve personal excellence in her performances. She also received high praise from famous musicians and singers such as Liu Chia Chang and Lo Ta-yu. Her popularity grew rapidly and in a brief period of time, her contest videos gathered greater than 10 million viewers on the internet. In the end, her talent in stage presence and appeal earned her the title of the best of the crop. She on the 8th of January, 2012 was named the overall champion of the inaugural season of the contest. At the age of 16 She was the youngest winner at the Million Star competitions.
