Sturges is a native of Hollywood, California and is the daughter of actor Solomon Sturges and actress Colette Jackson. She is the grandchild of screenwriter and director Preston Sturges. Her mother passed away on May 15, 1969. Her graduation was from University of California, Los Angeles and then began her career in the screen and television.

Sturges was Molly Brinker on Days of Our Lives from 1991 until 1992. She also appeared as a character on ABC Drama series Extreme but the show was ended after seven episodes. In 1996, Sturges got the role of the lead on the Aaron Spelling primetime soap opera Savannah along with Jamie Luner. After her show’s success, she was featured on People’s Most Beautiful People edition. Sturges is married to motion graphic designer Michael Kelly and they have two sons, named Jack Enzo Kelley, born September 6, 2001 and Ethan Robert Kelley, born August 21, 2003. The family currently resides in Santa Monica.
