Serita Solomon (born 1 March 1990) is a British track and field athlete, competing on the hurdles. She won bronze in the 60m hurdles during the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 2015. Solomon holds a personal record of 12.87 seconds in the 100m hurdles in outdoor competition and competed for England in the race at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Her indoor form was strong in the beginning of 2015 she brought her 60m hurdles record to 8.13 seconds, and later 8.11 seconds. Without Tiffany Porter, she was the winner of the British indoor title with a time 8.04 seconds. This earned her a spot on the team to compete in the 2015 European Athletics Indoor Championships and she did well, improving her personal bests at the time of the preliminary heat (8.03) Semi-final (7.95) followed by finishing (7.93) and as the result, she won the bronze medal, which was a step behind Alina Talay and her fellow British competitor Lucy Hatton. This brought her to fourth place on the British all-time lists of the competition, just behind Porter, Jessica Ennis and Hatton.

Solomon began to move closer to at the very top in the British elite in 2013 when she finished 4th in the British Indoor Championships, and she improved her 60 m hurdles record to 8.16 seconds just a week after in the Midland Counties Open. Solomon lowered her outdoor record three times throughout the year and lowered it to 13.23 first, followed by 13.21 then 13.09 seconds. The last time was in one of the finals at the British Athletics Championships, at which she finished second behind Tiffany Porter. She didn’t improve on her performance in 2014, however, she did finish within the top three spots at the national championships both outdoors and indoors. This earned her an international debut in England in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. In Glasgow, she missed getting into the semi-final by one millionth of a millisecond and was ranked tenth overall. She also competed for Great Britain for the first time at the 2014 European Team Championships Super League where she was placed 8th overall for the hurdles.

In Bromley, Solomon became involved in athletics at a very young age, and began to take up the sport in primary school to follow the example of her brother. She was a member of the Blackheath as well as Bromley Harriers Athletic Club around 2005, and was a member of this club’s sprints as well as hurdles. The club represented her in the 2006 European Champion Clubs Cup for Juniors and was second in the 100m hurdles. Following winning an English junior title in the competition the year 2007, she went back for this European Club competitions in 2009, and took the group B hurdles event, and also finished second place in the 100m race.

Then, she took home the British indoor university victory alongside Ashley Helsby with a new personal record time of 8.40 seconds. Outside, she took three seconds off her 100-meter hurdles record with a time that was 13.51 minutes in Bedford and then took home the British under-23 title. An improvement of 13.27 seconds occurred in July, however she was significantly slower at her British trials, finishing second in the championship. In 2012 she was named an English senior champion, and was fifth in the British Olympic trials for the 2012 London Olympics however she didn’t qualify for competition in the Olympics.
