He also plays for his senior Russian national team and has won the bronze on the European as well as Olympic level. He is able to play in either the power or small forward positions.

Antonov began his professional career with Avtodor Saratov in 2006. The club remained with him until the conclusion of the 2008-09 season. He then transferred towards TSU Basket Tambov for one season.
