Mouzannar was a participant in the peaceful Cedar Revolution of 2005 that led to the expulsion from his country’s Syrian forces from Lebanon.

In the year 1990, Mouzannar headed back to Paris, France where he gained additional knowledge in mineralogy from the Institut National de Gemmologie. Then, he went back in Beirut, Lebanon in 1993 to start his own jewelry business, Maison Selim Mouzannar. Mouzannar inaugurated his workshop, which was in 1993, followed by his flagship store five months later, in Beirut.

In the year 1980, Mouzannar left Lebanon in the middle of Lebanese civil war. He then went to university at Paris, France. He received a diploma in gemology and mineralogy in 1983. He also completed an internship at the Diamonds Market at Antwerp, Belgium.
In 1984, Mouzannar was employed as a purchasing and production manager for a well-known jeweler located within Saudi Arabia. He left in 1989 and relocated into Bangkok, Thailand, managing an international workshop. In the mid-80s He spent six months on the border between Thailand and Cambodians working in an Ruby mine, before deciding to move out of the Far-East.
Following the 2006 war over Lebanon, Mouzannar launched a new strategy in order to expand his brand internationally and participated in worldwide exhibitions.
