Sebastiano Girelli is one of the most popular and richest Italian footballer who was born on February 3, 1984 in Mantua, Italy. Sebastiano Girelli (born 3 February 1984) is an Italian footballer who plays as a defensive player for Virtus Castelfranco.

In the middle of 2004 Girelli was released from the youth system and was transferred to Sassuolo as a co-ownership agreement with a minor club from Emilia region. In June 2005, the club purchased Girelli in full. From 2004 until 2011, (except the 2009-10 season) Girelli made 90 league appearances (15 games per season on the average) with Sassuolo and was suspended six times (in average , once per season). Girelli was a players who helped Sassuolo’s move from C2 into Serie B, but did not have much contribution to Serie B from 2008 to 2011.

In July 2007, Sassuolo re-acquired half of the registration rights from Modena, as well as signing half of the card of Jidayi. Girelli made an improvement in 2007–08 Serie C1, with 27 appearances and 2 goals. However Girelli also suspended twice, one due to send off, one due to 4th yellow card. Girelli also suspended twice because of a the yellow cards of the 4th and 8th. In June 2005, Sassuolo bought Girelli outright. He was promoted up to Serie C1 in 2006, as the winner of the playoffs. Through the playoffs Fabrizio Anselmi played as the primary defense in the 4-3-3 formation that Girelli only played one time to take over the rested Anselmi in the absence of Piccioni as the backup left-back. Grimaldi continued to be the right-back. Even though he played only 18 times during 2005-06 Serie C2, in July 2006 Serie B club Modena signed Girelli completely. In June 2006, Modena also purchased the back Cris Gilioli who had been with Sassuolo.
