Sebastian Franco (born February 5 1993) is a Colombian player of racquetball. Franco was a previous International Racquetball Federation (IRF) World Champion in Men’s Doubles. He won his title on the same day in 2014 alongside Alejandro Herrera. In the year 2018, Franco became the first South American to win a event at the International Racquetball Tour (IRT) and he took home his first March Madness event in San Antonio. He was in the IRT’s Top 10 four straight seasons from 2015-16 until 2018-19. He also had a career- high ranking of 6th in 2017-18.
In 2009 For the third time, Franco met Daniel De La Rosa during the finals of the IRF World Junior Championships. The match was this time in Boys U16 Singles and yet again De La Rosa was the winner of the round of 16. However, he made it onto his first podium because Franco and Garzon defeated the Mexican team comprising Jaime Martell and Salvador Ortiz in the quarterfinals of the Boys U16 Doubles. They fell in their semi-final match against Bolivians Carlos Keller and Jorge Luis Michel However, they emerged bronze medal winners.
In 2011, Franco played Boys U18 Singles, and lost in the Round of 16 to Mexican Jaime Martell. In Boys U18 Doubles, Franco and Garzon lost to Bolivians Carlos Keller and Jorge Luis Michel in the quarterfinals.
Note: W = winner, F = finalist, SF = semi-finalist, QF = quarterfinalist, 16 = Round of 16. Also, the USA Racquetball National Singles Championships had an IRT division from 2012-2014, so Carson competed in that rather than the top USAR division.
In 2008, at the IRF World Junior Championships, Franco also lost to De La Rosa in the Round of 16 for Boys U14. Franco and Garzon also played doubles, however, in the Boys U16 Doubles division where they fell to the American team of Bradley Kirch and Nick Montalbano in the quarterfinals.

Franco started playing racquetball as part of an after-school program at the age of twelve. Two years after he began to play, Franco participated in the IRF World Junior Championships in 2007 when he fell during the round of 16 for the Boys under 14 division against Mexican Daniel De La Rosa. In the Boys U14 Doubles, that year Franco along with Juan Felipe Garzon lost in the quarterfinals against Bolivians Carlos Keller and Jorge Luis Michel who then went to win the division.
Franco participated during the US Open as a teenager in 2008 and 2009 and was in his teens when he decided to participate in on the International Racquetball Tour in earnest during the 2010-11 season where he took part in seven events. However, Franco did not make it beyond round 32 at the tournaments he played in. Franco played in three to four IRT events over the following four seasons. He made it to Round of 16 Round of 16 three times from 14 events.
Franco played Boys U16 Singles in 2010, when he lost to eventual champion Marco Rojas of the USA in the quarterfinals. In Boys U18 Doubles that year, Franco and Garzon lost to Canadians Pedro Castro and Jamie Slamko in the quarterfinals.

Thus, Franco had some international experience coming into the 2014 IRF World Championships in Burlington, Ontario, Canada, but he wasn’t one of the top seeds in either singles or doubles. After the preliminary round, Franco was seeded 9th in Men’s Singles and 7th in Men’s Doubles with Alejandro Herrera. In singles, he lost to the USA’s Rocky Carson, 15-8, 15-10, in the quarterfinals, and Carson went to win the championship.
