Sean Patrick Nolin (born December 26 1989) is an American professional baseball player with the Saitama Seibu Lions of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). He was previously a part of Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Toronto Blue Jays and Oakland Athletics.

Nolin was promoted for his home team of the Blue Jays on September 1 in the roster expansion for September. Nolin would make only the one game for Toronto for 2014 when he pitched one innings of relief on the 22nd of September.

On February 12, 2016, the A’s designated Nolin for assignment.

On February 18, 2018, Nolin signed a minor league deal with the Colorado Rockies. He became a free agent after the season ended.

In November 2014 Nolin was transferred with the Oakland Athletics, along with Brett Lawrie, Kendall Graveman along with Franklin Barreto, for Josh Donaldson. He was released by Nashville Sounds’ Triple-A Nashville Sounds on September 4 in 2015. On September 6 the 6th, he was able to make his Athletics debut with a loss of 3-2 to the Seattle Mariners. Nolin got his first MLB victory on the 12th of September in the game, when the Athletics beat 5-3 the Texas Rangers 5-3.

Nolin was selected to the Toronto Blue Jays in the sixth round of the 2010 MLB Entry Draft out of San Jacinto Junior College. He was originally selected from the Milwaukee Brewers in the fiftieth round of the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft, as well as by the Seattle Mariners in the forty-eighth round of the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft, but he didn’t sign either time.

Nolin made his debut as a player with his team the Auburn Doubledays of the New York-Penn league in the year 2010, playing in six games and posting an 6.05 ERA. The following year, he recorded an overall record of 4-4 and a 3.49 ERA with the Lansing Lugnuts. Nolin split his 2011 season with the Dunedin Blue Jays and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, having a 10-0 record with an 2.04 ERA. Nolin did not play in the initial month of 2013’s baseball season due an injury to the groin at the beginning of spring camp. On May 23 the 23rd of May, 2013 it was confirmed that Nolin was scheduled to be summoned back to the Major Leagues to start on May 24, 2013 when he will play the Baltimore Orioles. The official call-up was made on May 24, when J. A. Happ was transferred to the disabled list of 60 days. Nolin suffered the loss in his debut, throwing 1/3 of an inning and surrendering six earned runs and a walk. The option was returned in the Double-A level of New Hampshire following the 10-6 loss. Nolin was placed as the top prospect within the Blue Jays organization on July 26 2013 when the new top 100 prospect list unveiled. Nolin was transferred to the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons on the 17th of August 17. Nolin had been invited to training camp in the year 2014 before being was traded for his home team, the Buffalo Bisons on March 16 the 16th of March, 2014. Nolin posted a record of 4-7 in the minors during 2014 and had an ERA of 3.43 and 88 strikeouts in the 97 innings he pitched.

On February 22, 2016, Nolin was claimed off waivers by the Milwaukee Brewers. On August 21, 2016, Nolin underwent Tommy John surgery, and was put away for the rest of the 2016 season plus all of 2017 as well. He resigned a minor league deal for the 2017 season. He elected free agency on November 6, 2017.
