Scott Thomas McGough (born October 31 1989) is an American professional baseball pitcher with the Tokyo Yakult Swallows of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). McGough was the first player to make his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut with the Miami Marlins in 2015.
McGough became a major leaguer on the 20th of August 2015, and was able to allow three runs and only 2 outs in the game against Philadelphia Phillies.
On November 23, 2017, McGough signed a minor league contract with the Colorado Rockies. He was assigned to AAA Albuquerque Isotopes for the 2018 season. He elected free agency on November 3, 2018. He resigned a minor league deal on November 9, 2018. McGough was later released on December 18, 2018.

McGough was a student at Plum High School in Plum, Pennsylvania and was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 46th round of the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft, but he didn’t take the plunge and sign. Instead, he decided to go to his first choice, the University of Oregon, where McGough played for the university’s baseball team. At the time of the 2011, Major League Baseball Draft, his name was chosen in the fifth round of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
McGough started his professional career in 2011 with the rookie-level Ogden Raptors. McGough was later called up for the single-A Great Lakes Loons. He began in the new campaign with the rancho Cucamonga Quakes.
McGough was claimed off waivers by the Baltimore Orioles on April 15, 2016. He elected free agency on November 6, 2017.
