Scott Liss (born June 7, 1982) is an American singer-songwriter, multi- instrumentalist, and frontman of the Asbury Park, New Jersey-based band the Sixty-Six. His music is a smoky blend of alternative folk and psychedelic rock , as in addition to a strong, melodic sound. The guitar style he plays employs a variety of alternative tunings. His songwriting style is inspired through Elliott Smith and Radiohead.

After spending the remainder of 2007 developing his skills as a solo artist in the Asbury Park, NJ music scene, Liss was given the opportunity to perform at the 2008 South by Southwest Music Conference that was held at Austin, TX. Liss formed a group with the drummer James Griffith and bassist Gianni Scalise. Although the band was intended to be an interim lineup in the SxSW festival the trio decided to stay together as a group and formed in June 2008 Scott Liss and the Sixty-Six.

As of September 2009, Scott Liss completed his second full-length album. The album, titled The Blackpool Letters, was recorded and mixed primarily at Retromedia Sound Studios, with additional tracking at Shorefire Studio in NJ, with tracks produced by both Paul Ritchie and Scott Liss.

The Blackpool Letters was released on June 11, 2010.

Following the release of Skylines, Liss moved to Philadelphia to perform with his former drummer Evan Madden. After deciding to go it alone, Liss performed throughout Pennsylvania and gained a hefty foothold in the Philadelphia’s indie folk scene. In the latter half of 2006 Liss began making the commute New York City. In the autumn of 2000, Liss relocated into Baltimore, Maryland to attend UMBC to learn about musical composition as well as recording. It was at this point when he first began writing and recording his own original music at the university’s recording studio. He also spent time with other artists within Baltimore. Liss released his debut album, titled Skylines in June 2005 under the name NightOnlyVisual. The album was praised by critics who reviewed it as “gorgeous and inspiring, as well as wholly characteristic and continually engaging” and “a strong fist in the air over the heads of hundreds of thousands of self- indulgent rock acts”.

In early 2007 Liss moved to Red Bank, New Jersey with the encouragement of the rising music scene of the New Jersey shore. Teaming up once again with Paul Ritchie who was this time producing, Liss began recording new material at Retromedia Sound Studios. Through Ritchie, Liss met New Jersey-native alternative rock artist Nicole Atkins. Atkins lent her talents to some of these new recordings singing backup vocals. Additional musicians during these sessions included David Rosen and Sam Bey (both members of the rock band the Parlor Mob) as well as Anthony Chick and Jeff Plate (of the garage rock band Sikamor Rooney).
