Yahagi was born in Tokyo and had lived in Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture for a certain period of time. As a child, she thought “Anime is a picture talking” and said that she had no idea about voice acting until her friend talked to the voice actor. She first wanted to become a voice actor during junior high school in the wake of a friend telling her that she “sounds like anime”. In 2005, she made her debut as a voice actress in the role of Karin Maaka in the anime television series Karin.
