He earned his Bachelor of Arts at H.K Arts College, Ahmedabad in 1993. He also completed his Master of Arts at the School of Languages of Gujarat University in 1995. He also studied English literary studies as one of his courses.
Greenroomma (In the Greenroom) the only poem collection, was released in the year 2008. His poems span different poetic genres like Ghazal Nazm, Ghazal Geet and Free poetry and are on various topics like Sex Worker and the Rana abandoned by Meera the boy in the Sivakasi fireworks factory, a shepherd called Jetho and the petty little sister, and a labourer seeking relief from the heat of the gunny bag that is heaves. The book has been praised by critics.
His play 102 Not Out is adapted as a Hindi language Indian film 102 Not Out directed by Umesh Shukla. He is credited as a writer of the film. He also wrote dialogues and lyrics for 2018 Gujarati language film Hellaro.
Joshi has been awarded Yuva Gaurav Puraskar (2007) as well as Takhtasinh Parmar prize (2008-09) in recognition of his work to Gujarati literature. He was awarded the Chandravadan Chimanlal Mehta Award, named after the renowned Gujarati actor Chandravadan Mehta in 2013 for his work in Gujarati theatre. He also was the winner from the Ravji Patel Award, Balvantray Thakor Prize and the Sadbhavna Award (2014).

Joshi began his career as a professor of English literature at his old school H. K. Arts College in 1995. The year 2010 was the time he started the Fade-In Theater with others who were young in the theatre. He quit his position as an instructor in September of 2011 to go back to the theatre.
He made his debut on stage in Gujarati theater with the show Rami Lo Ne Yaar!. The play was critically acclaimed by critics for his performance Dost Chokkas Ahin Ek Nagar Vastu Hatu A musical black comedy that was based on the 2002 Gujarat violence. The other critically acclaimed and commercially successful plays include Welcome Zindagi and 102 Not out. The play 102 Not Out is about an 102-year-old father trying to break the record for the Chinese man who spent 120 years in the same place. The other plays he has written include Munjaro Mahatma Bomb, Tu Tu Tu Tu Tu Tara and Dharo Ke Tame Manji Chho.
