Sari Miriam Essayah (born 21 February 1967 in Haukivuori) is a Finnish retired race walker as well as politician. She was a Former Member of the European Parliament (MEP) and the Member of Parliament since 2015. She is President of the Finnish Christian Democrats party. Her father was born in Morocco.

In the 2015 elections for parliament, Essayah was elected to represent a constituency that was newly created in Savonia in addition to Karelia with more than 11 000 votes. She was then elected to serve as vice-president for the Christian Democrats’ Parliamentary group. Then, in August of this year, she was appointed to be the new chairperson of her party following the fact that their predecessor Paivi Rasanen, resigned from her position after 10 years. Sari Essayah was reelected to the Finnish the Finnish parliament during the 2019 elections, and was re-elected for another term as party’s chair at a congress held in August.

Essayah was a candidate for the 2012 Finnish presidential election in Finland. She was last in the race by a mere 2.47 percent of votes.
