On April 28, 2020 Britcliffe was the very first Member of Parliament to give her first speech outside in the House of Commons after the house adopted a new system by which members can participate in debates online during the coronavirus epidemic.

Britcliffe was chosen as the Conservative candidate for the Hyndburn constituency on November 6, 2019. Her father previously ran for the seat in general elections of 1997 and 2001. She was elected the MP for the district at the general election in 2019 with an overwhelming majority of 2951% (7.0 percent). The seat has been covered by an Labour Party MP since the general election in 1992. At the age 24 she became the youngest Conservative MP elected at the elections.

Britcliffe was a student at St Christopher’s Church of England High School, Accrington. The father of her, Peter, is the councillor for the Oswaldtwistle Ward of the Lancashire County Council. Her older brothers are Peter and Andrew. Their mother Gabrielle Kroger died in 2004 at the age of nine years young. She was a student of contemporary languages in the University of Manchester. Britcliffe was a official role of the mayor between 2017 and 2018 with her father, who was mayor of the Hyndburn Borough Council. He resigned from the council in the year 2018. She was elected an elected councillor in the Ward in St. Andrews (previously represented by her father) in the 2018 Hyndburn Borough Council election. Prior to her career in politics she was the manager of an eatery serving sandwiches in Oswaldtwistle.

On the 23rd December of 2019 the news media reported that at a private event, Britcliffe had worn a T-shirt with the image of former Labour Member of Parliament of Hyndburn Graham Jones. Britcliffe was accused of wearing the shirt and responded that it was an arrangement made by some of her labour- supporting pals and apologized to Jones and her partner for any offense caused by the shirt. The first time she traveled overseas took her in Pakistan in the context of an all-party team in February of 2020. Britcliffe has been a part of the Women and Equalities Committee since March 2020.
