Sandra Currie Osborne (nee Clark born on February 23, 1956) is an Scottish Labour politician, who was the MP in the constituencies of Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock between 2005 and general elections in 2015. She was first elected MEP for Ayr in 1997. Ayr area in 1997 and was forced to quit the government in 2003 in protest of an issue with the Iraq War. She was part of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee from 2005-2010 and then from 2013. She was an active member of the Defence Select Committee 2010-13 and was an active participant in the Council of Europe.
Osborne was the Parliamentary private secretary to Helen Liddell, the Secretary of State for Scotland in June 2002 until her resignation out in March of 2003 due to her refusal to go to the war against Iraq. She was of the view that war should not be allowed to happen without having a third UN resolution. She was previously the PPS for George Foulkes, Minister of State in the Scotland Office and to his predecessor, Brian Wilson. She was the Chair of the Scottish Group of Labour MPs as well as a member of the Scottish Executive of the Labour Party. She has been chair of the All Party Group on Meningitis. She was part of the Kerley Committee on the Renewal of Local Democracy and submitted a minority report against proportional representation.
On 6 May 2010, Osborne was re-elected as MP for Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock with a majority of 9,911 votes. In 2010, she was elected Vice Chair of Labour’s backbench Foreign Affairs Committee and Chair of the All Party Equalities Group. In October 2010, she was appointed to the Defence Select Committee and the Council of Europe. In 2011, she was a member of the special Select Committee set up to scrutinise the Bill that became the Armed Forces Act 2011. In January 2011, the Speaker of the House of Commons appointed her to his Panel of Chairs. She was reappointed to the Foreign Affairs Select Committee in 2013.
Osborne was born in Paisley and raised to a poor home in the Ferguslie Park district, in Paisley. She attended Camphill Secondary School in Paisley. Later, she attended classes in the evening before moving to Jordanhill College where she gained the Diploma in Community Education. After becoming an employee of the community in Glasgow she relocated to Ayrshire and spent fourteen years as a counselor with Women’s Aid, based in Kilmarnock. At the period, she also completed her studies on a part-time basis at University of Strathclyde where she received the title of Master of Science in equality and Discrimination. In 1997 she was among the finalist shortlisted in the Scottish Woman of the Year Awards (Glasgow Evening Times) selected for her work in helping abused women.

Osborne is the incumbent councillor representing Whitletts in Kyle and Carrick District Council and South Ayrshire Council where she also was the Convener for Community Services (Housing and Social Work). She is an active participant in the trade union Unite (formerly TGWU) and has been involved within the Labour Party since 1976, serving as Ayr CLP Secretary.
