In 2004, when she was 19 years old she entered the reality show East Africa Coca-Cola Popstars Talent Search after gaining support from her family. She along with her two bandmates ‘Sema’ Kevin “Kev” Waweru as well as Pam Waithaka came out as the winners. The group have released their single Leta Wimbo, and a seventeen-track albumthat brought them into the spotlight. In 2005, however the group split up in the wake of which Sana began her own solo career.

The same year, she brought new life to her career in music, she released “I wish”, closely then “Mfalme wa Mapenzi”. She later appeared with comedian Obinna Ike Igwe for the show in the middle of the morning and later performed on the same program.
