Sammy Reeson (born 5 January 1963) is a British former boxer who was the first person to have both British as well as European cruiserweight titles. He continued to fight for the WBC world title.
In May 1989, he faced Puerto Rican Carlos de Leon to take an opportunity to regain the WBC cruiserweight title that was vacated by Evander Holyfield. De Leon stopped Reeson in the 9th round after he knocked his opponent twice — the only loss of his 26-fight career. It was Reeson’s final bout.

In Battersea, London, Reeson began his professional career in 1983. He was victorious in his first twelve fights before he won his first title in the form of that of the Southern Area lightweight title he won in January of 1985 by an end-of-round stoppage from Trevor Cattouse. In October of 1985, he took on Stewart Lithgo for the newly released British cruiserweight title. He won by points in 12 rounds. He kept his 100% victory record until May 1986, when he got stopped in the fourth round by Louis Pergaud.
In April 1987, he faced Manfred Jassmann for the chance to become the first EBU cruiserweight champion. Reeson was crowned European champion after an unanimous vote. He won the title in November of that year and defeated Luigi Ricci via a 7th-round knockout.
